{July 9, 2013}   Pizza Supreme (Cooking Light: Crave! [2013])

1 pound refrigerated fresh pizza dough

Cooking spray

2 teaspoons olive oil

1 4 ounce link sweet turkey Italian sausage

1 cup sliced mushrooms

1 cup thinly sliced red bell pepper

1 cup thinly sliced orange bell pepper

1 cup thinly sliced red onion

.25 teaspoon crushed red pepper

3 thinly sliced garlic cloves

.75 lower sodium marinara sauce

4 ounces thinly sliced fresh mozzarella cheese

  1. Preheat oven to 500 degrees F.
  2. Place dough in bowl coated with cooking spray; let stand, covered, 30 m.
  3. Roll dough into 14″ circle on lightly floured surface.  Place on 14″ pizza pan or baking sheet coated with cooking spray.
  4. Heat oil in large nonstick skillet over medium high heat.  Remove casing from sausage.  Add sausage to pan; cook 2 m, stirring to crumble.  Add mushrooms, bell peppers, onion, crushed red pepper, and garlic, cook 4 m, stirring occasionally.
  5. Spread sauce over dough, leaving 1″ border.  Arrange cheese evenly over sauce.  Arrange sausage mix evenly over cheese.  Bake at 500 degrees F 15 m.  Cut pizza into 6 wedges.  Serves 6.
